The U.S. Army Expands e-Learning Partnership with SkillSoft

SkillSoft's e-Learning Content and Technology Equips Army Personnel with the Business and Technical Skills Needed to Excel on the Job

NASHUA, N.H., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SkillSoft PLC (Nasdaq: SKIL), a leading provider of e-learning and performance support solutions, today announced it has been awarded a new five-year contract from the U.S. Army. Under the new competitively awarded contract, the Army will continue to deploy SkillSoft's e-learning courseware and complementary technology to deliver engaging training experiences to personnel located throughout the world.

The U.S. Army is constantly challenged with providing geographically dispersed personnel with the wide range of business, professional and technical skills necessary to excel on the job. Through its partnership with SkillSoft, the Army is deploying a comprehensive e-learning solution to deliver Web-based training and professional development to all Active Duty, Reserve Component, Guard and Department of the Army civilian personnel. The solution includes SkillSoft's Business Skills and IT Skills Courseware collections and the SkillPort learning management system (LMS).
