SkillSoft Becomes First e-Learning Provider in Federal Acquisition Institute's Vendor Consortium

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

SkillSoft PLC (Nasdaq: SKIL), a leading SaaS provider of e-learning and performance support solutions for global enterprises, government, education and small to medium-sized businesses, today announced that the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) has reviewed 23 of its e-learning courses and acknowledged their alignment with the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Management (FAC-P/PM) competencies. With this distinction, SkillSoft becomes the first e-learning provider accepted into FAI's Vendor Consortium.

Established in 1976 under the Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act, the FAI is charged with fostering and promoting the development of the federal acquisition workforce. In conjunction with its partners, the FAI seeks to ensure availability of exceptional training, provide compelling research, promote professionalism, and improve acquisition workforce management. The FAI provides resources to acquisition professionals at every stage of their career. Through its online training, classroom training, and partnerships with accredited institutions, acquisition professionals are able to obtain the skills necessary to further their professional career.

"FAI has set the bar in its identification of competencies supporting government Program and Project Management certification and in recognizing the ability of e-learning to meet key training and professional development requirements for the acquisition professionals," said Kevin Duffer, Vice President, Public Sector, SkillSoft. "We are excited that FAI has determined that our courses meet their requirements for the highly regarded FAC-P/PM certification. We are looking forward to getting additional courses and content reviewed for this purpose. We are also looking forward to working with FAI and our clients to help them leverage SkillSoft resources in support of this government-wide initiative."

With more than 2 million licensed civilian and military government users, SkillSoft has relationships in place with many Federal agencies. Inclusion in the FAI Vendor Consortium provides SkillSoft's clients with the ability to gain additional value from their e-learning investments in addressing these critical certification requirements. SkillSoft's resources can be further leveraged, at the discretion of each agency, to meet the requirements for Continuous Learning Points associated with FAI certifications.

"We are excited to see SkillSoft working with the FAI to identify applicable e-learning courseware as they have proven to be a great partner in learning for our organization," said Stan Gray, AgLearn Program Manager, USDA. "This third-party validation confirms the quality of the SkillSoft courses and increases the value that SkillSoft delivers to AgLearn and our USDA learners."
