SkillSoft Presents Perspectives 2010 User Conference: "Propelling Business IQ"
Annual Event Broadens e-Learning Landscape with Insight from Key Industry Leaders
ORLANDO, FLa. & NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SkillSoft PLC (Nasdaq: SKIL), a leading SaaS provider of e-learning and performance support solutions for global enterprises, government, education and small to medium-sized businesses, announced that today it kicked off its annual user conference, Perspectives 2010, in Orlando, Florida. The event brings together industry professionals and field experts in e-learning to discuss market trends and best practices, while sharing innovative approaches to implementing learning programs. Perspectives provides enterprises, government, education and small to medium-sized organizations the unique opportunity to both share with and learn from top business leaders that are effectively aligning e-learning initiatives with corporate strategy.
"Developments in e-learning technology better prepare organizations to respond to today's business demands and create increased value by fostering a new culture around learning," said Jerry Nine, COO of SkillSoft. "To support this year's theme of propelling business IQ, industry leaders and experts with direct insights on how to apply strategic e-learning programs and leverage new models, such as social learning, will take center stage at Perspectives, as we look to outline the future of technology-based learning."
SkillSoft recently launched inGenius, a social learning platform that enables customers to create an employee community around learning, allowing workers to find, create and share knowledge assets and expertise with their colleagues. inGenius extends the value of expert information and infuses it with the knowledge and expertise of an organization's own employees. A Learning Session on Tuesday will include a demo of inGenius, share early client feedback and explore the philosophy behind social learning.
More than 500 people are in attendance at the 10th annual user conference, which has grown in popularity since its inception. Attendees have access to keynote speeches, 35 Learning Sessions and six different workshops on a wide variety of topics, including best practices for marketing e-learning programs, and overcoming the challenges of virtual training. The opening keynote is part of the Leadership Development Channel's Series of Live Events and features Sir Ken Robinson, PhD, an internationally recognized leader in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources. The day 2 keynote is led by prominent researcher and lecturer, Shawn Achor, on happiness, human potential and positive psychology.
During Perspectives, the 2010 Innovations in Learning Awards winners will be announced. The awards honor SkillSoft customers for their significant achievements in e-learning, recognizing innovative ideas and inspiring leaders who are helping to transform the learning landscape.
