United States Army Renews Five-Year Contract with SkillSoft and MILVETS Systems Technology to Support Learning Initiatives

SkillSoft and MILVETS Partnership has Supported the U.S. Army’s Commitment to Education Since 2006

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SkillSoft, a leading SaaS provider of e-learning and performance support solutions for global enterprises, government, education and small-to-medium-sized businesses and MILVETS Systems Technology, Inc., a provider of Information Technology (IT) and technical services to the U.S. Federal Government, state and local agencies, and commercial customers, today announced that the United States Army has again chosen both companies to support their learning initiatives by providing e-learning solutions to its global user base. During the past five years, Army users have completed more than 5.4 million courses supporting a wide range of professional development needs and resulting in significant cost avoidance.

The Army e-Learning Program currently offers educational and skill enhancing content, products, and services to all active duty, National Guard and Reserve, and Department of the Army Civilian personnel. It is an essential portion of the current Army Personnel, Operations and Information programs which are designed to inform, retain and train, care for and otherwise support Army soldiers. Under the new contract, the licensed audience is expanded to include Army personnel who are transitioning out of the service.

“Since 1996, we’ve been honored to support the United States Army with quality e- learning and performance support solutions,” said Kevin Duffer, vice president, public sector for SkillSoft. “We are very proud of the role we play in providing Army soldiers and civilians with the tools and content resources to support the Army’s culture of continuous learning. We are extremely pleased that the Army continues to value ongoing learning and education, and we look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial partnership for years to come.”

Under the renewed five-year contract, SkillSoft and MILVETS will continue to play a key role in supporting the Army’s main learning initiatives, including leadership development, performance management, Six Sigma and college credit. The Army will employ a range of SkillSoft solutions supported by MILVETS IT and technical services, including the SkillPort platform, Well-BeingEssentials, KnowledgeCenters and Enhanced Support, with a dedicated Army Help Desk.

“MILVETS, is a leading service-disabled, veteran-owned small business and we are proud of our strong relationship with the U.S. Army,” said Bob Daniels, president and CEO for MILVETS. “Together with SkillSoft we have supported the Army’s commitment to its soldier’s education and well-being, and we look forward to working together to deliver five more years of commitment to program excellence.”

The Army e-Learning Program provides soldiers with immediate access to more than 5,000 online courses, 23,000 Reference Books in four distinct collections, several KnowledgeCenters and much more. Many courses are recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) and offer college credit while many others are aligned with over 50 professional Certification Programs.
